Module One: The Neurodivergent Brain and Body

You've likely spent a long time trying to make sense of moments that didn't make sense. Why a request got no response. Why a small sound ended the evening. Why "I'm fine" was true right up until it wasn't.

This module gives you the map. We start with how an autistic nervous system actually takes in the world — because most of what feels personal in your relationship isn't. It's structural.

What we'll cover

The body-brain disconnect — Why signals like hunger, fatigue, and rising overwhelm arrive late or not at all, and how to spot the external cues your partner can't feel internally.

How information gets processed — Why the pause after you speak is the work happening, not resistance. Practical shifts in timing and phrasing that change whether you get an answer.

Sensory sensitivities — Why the restaurant you love is unbearable and touch is welcome one day and not the next. Building a shared sensory map you plan around together.

Perception gaps — Misreading runs both directions. You're each interpreting the other through your own wiring, and this reframe takes a lot of blame out of the room.

You'll leave with

  • A clear understanding of what's driving the moments that confuse or hurt you most

  • Language and timing adjustments you can use immediately

  • The ability to separate what your partner's brain does from what you've believed it means
